You Don't Know Me

    Hello everyone! My name is Maria Carlyn Sinlao, but you can call me Lily, like the flower. I was born and raised in the Philippines, but I moved to Guam when I turned 18. I’m currently studying Biology because I aspire to work in healthcare—I’m passionate about helping people. At the moment, I work as a dental nurse, but I’m eager to expand my knowledge and explore more about myself. I’m a Christian, devoted to Jesus, my God and savior, and I strive to honor Him in all that I do. In addition to my career and studies, I’m an anonymous poet and enjoy writing poetry. I also love reading and gaming, but today I want to focus on something very special to me. An integral part of who I am in a form of art: dancing.

 And yes, that’s me—Lily by the dance floor. Dancing is the art I love the most. As a child, I was always moving to the music, and over time, dancing became an integral part of who I am. From being a baby to a toddler, teenager, and now a young adult, dancing has been my source of confidence and joy. It’s a way for me to express myself without needing words.

    I’ve explored various styles and genres, including ballet, hip-hop, and sports dance, and I’m always eager to learn more. To me, dancing is a beautiful form of art where your body communicates emotions and stories, almost like a living painting.
